Who We Are
Japan Abduction Watch (J.A.W.) is an independent, volunteer-run documentation project founded by left-behind parents. We are not affiliated with any government or political party. Our sole purpose is to create a permanent, verifiable public record of parental child abduction cases involving Japan — the record that no government agency currently keeps.
What We Publish, and How We Verify It
- Cases are published only when supported by legal documents, court records, or public testimony.
- Children's photos are published only with the consent of the child or their parent.
- Court and police documents are archived as submitted, with personal data redaction encouraged before upload.
- Every submission is manually reviewed before publication. Nothing goes public automatically.
- Anyone who believes they are wrongly listed can request a formal review at any time — see our publication & privacy policy.
